THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING
The department is offering £1000 Scholarship for those students who gain three B grades at A2 Level , and £1,500 for two A's and a B
If you gain a minimum of 70% in your end of year exam, then the department will offer a £500 scholarship.
There are also opportunities for Scholarships up to £1500 from various companies.

The School of Engineering has five disciplines all offering degrees to Bachelor of Engineering (BEng 3 years) or Master of Engineering (MEng 4 years) level as well as a new suite of Technology degrees.
The following indicates the typical courses and entry requirements for each discipline. Full details can be found in the prospectus.
1. CHEMICAL ENGINEERING 300-320 Tariff points. Typical offer BB+ to include Maths and Chemistry to at least AS level.
2. CIVIL ENGINEERING (including Building Design)300-380 Tariff points. Typical offer BB+ to include Maths and Physics to at least AS level.
3. ELECTRONIC, ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING (including Communications Engineering and Computer Interactive Systems)300-340 Tariff points.Typical offer BB+ to include Maths and Physics to at least AS level.(Note: For Computer Interactive Systems the requirement is for a minimum of one science at A level, Maths is preferable but not compulsory.
4. MECHANICAL & AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING (including Biomedical Engineering)300-320 Tariff points. Typical offer BB+ to include Maths and Physics (or Design & Technology) to at least AS level.
5. METALLURGY & MATERIALS (including Sports and Materials)280 Tariff points. Typical offer BC+ to include two from Physics (or Design and Technology), Chemistry and Maths at A level. Note: For Sports and Materials one experimental science is required and a typical offer is BB+.
6. TECHNOLOGY (including Disaster Management, Sustainable Technology and Communications) 300-320 Tariff points. Typical offer BB+ to include one science at A level. Note: Technology can be combined with an Arts or Humanities subject to give a joint honours degree.
In all disciplines opportunities exist to take up to a year out from university to work in industry. Students are also kept aware of summer vacation opportunities.
Some disciplines offer "with" degrees. A degree “with Language" or “with International Study" will involve the student studying abroad for a specific period in a given year.
There are also “with Business Management" degrees available where students can combine the engineering subject of their choice with the study of marketing, project management and business.
